Tell
ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children,
and their children another generation.
1.3
Tell
them what?
That
which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which
the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the
cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten. 1.4
Alas
for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand,
and
as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.
1.15
for
the day of the Lord is great
and
very terrible; and who can abide it?
2:11
“Proclaim
ye this among the Gentiles;...”
3.9
Proclaim
what?
The
“day of the Lord” Joel spoke of. Also noted in Isa, Amos,
Obadiah, Zephaniah at the close of the OT and in the “day of
grace,” because of the Lord Jesus in the NT. (Acts, I Cor, I Thes)
Read all verses, emphasizing “the day
of the Lord.”
For
the day of the Lord of
hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every
one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:
Howl
ye; for the day of the Lord is at
hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
Behold,
the day of the Lord cometh, cruel
both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate:
and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of
it.
Therefore
I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove
out of her place, in the wrath of the
Lord of hosts, and in the day of
his fierce anger.
And
it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord
shall punish the host of the high ones that are
on high, and the kings of the earth upon the
earth.
Multitudes,
multitudes in the valley of decision: for the
day of the Lord is near in the
valley of decision.
Woe
unto you that desire the day of the Lord!
to what end is it for you? the day of the
Lord is darkness, and not light
For
the day of the Lord is near upon
all the heathen:
Hold
thy peace at the presence of the Lord
God: for the day of the Lord is at
hand: for the Lord hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath
bid his guests.
And
it shall come to pass in the day of the
Lord's sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and
the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange
apparel.
The
great day of the Lord is near, it is
near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the
day of the Lord: the mighty man
shall cry there bitterly.
The
sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood,
before the great and notable day of the
Lord come:
It
all sounds pretty scary, doesn't it?
THIS
IS HOW YOU WANT TO BE on the “Day of the LORD.”
Who
shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may
be blameless in the day of
our Lord Jesus Christ. 1
Cor 1.8
The
prophet Joel spoke of “the day of the Lord” as did many others.
It will be a terrible time. It will be a time when the influence and
hand of the Holy Ghost is gone out of this world. It will be a time
when there will be no preachers, no bible teachers, no christians, no
comfort, no mercy, no pity for all that one will suffer.
The
ONLY escape is...
“Jesus saith unto him, I
am the way,
the truth, and the life: no
man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John
14.6
He's
so Great, won't I see Him when He comes in the clouds?
Are
you watching for Him, Are you ready for Him?
For
yourselves know perfectly that the
day of
the Lord
so cometh as a thief in the
night. I Thes 5.2
Only
if you have repented of your sins and trusted Him to cleanse you from
“all unrighteousness.” I Jn 1.9
